When was the last time you were truly present? No distractions. It sounds impossible to tune out the world around us - but through the powerful tool of meditation, it's possible to find peace.
Meditation is simply being in the present moment. It allows you to connect with your inner being, meet your higher sense of self, and recognize every breath. It's also an opportunity to practice compassion towards yourself, help with the process of acceptance, and cultivate presence.
I was first introduced to meditation as a tool to stay grounded and present by my very first life coach. Initially, I was very inconsistent and struggled with the practice. When I finally let go of expectations and released judgment around the quality of my meditation, I was able to embrace it as a daily practice. A way for me to connect with my inner self and set my intentions for the day. To me, meditation is the foundation of each new day. It isn't about becoming a newer or better person, it's about coming back to ME. In addition, meditation helps to train awareness and guide many aspects of your life:
