What Would Your Future Self Say?šŸ¤”

Have you ever thought about the difference between self-care and self-love?

At first glance, they seem similar ā€“ both are about taking care of yourself, right? But when you really sit with it, you realize they serve two very different purposes. Let me share why it matters.

āœØ Self-care is about comfort. It may look like the warm bath after a long day, the slow morning with your favourite book, the nourishing meal, or the deep rest your body craves. Itā€™s soothing, nurturing, and replenishing.

āœØ Self-love on the other hand, is about discomfort. Itā€™s choosing whatā€™s best for you, even when itā€™s hard. Itā€™s having the tough conversations, setting boundaries, moving your body when you donā€™t feel like it, breaking unhealthy patterns, and stepping outside your comfort zone. Self-love isnā€™t always easy, but itā€™s what allows us to grow, evolve, and truly honour ourselves.

And yes, following your purpose and desires is a way of loving yourself. Pursuing your dreams, using your voice, showing up fully in the world ā€“ these things often require courage, discomfort, and a willingness to push beyond what feels safe.

Whatā€™s helped me most in practicing self-love is thinking of my future self. Because self-love is not only about loving yourself today, but itā€™s also about loving the future version of you. Thinking of her when you make choices. Because sheā€™s definitely cheering you on to move your body, eat healthy, leave the toxic relationship, follow your purpose. If you canā€™t do it for yourself today, do it for her.

This week, I invite you to ask yourself:
šŸ¤ How can I love my future self today, even if it feels hard?
šŸ¤ Where am I choosing comfort over true self-love?
šŸ¤ What is one thing I can do today that my future self will thank me for?

Loving yourself isnā€™t just about feeling good ā€“ itā€™s about making choices that support your highest self, even when they donā€™t feel the best in the moment.

I dive even deeper into this topic in this weekā€™s episode of the Spiritually Wired PodcastšŸŽ™ļø Listen in as we explore what it truly means to love yourself through lifeā€™s challenges and why it matters more than ever.

Remember to slow down, breathe, and trust that you are spiritually wired for your dreams ā€“ theyā€™re already waiting for you.
