The Story Behind the White Dress🤍

Last week I said I’d share a bit more of the behind the scenes from the Iconic Magazine shoot… because something interesting happened for me internally through the process.

There’s a story behind the white dress (see above).

When it was first suggested, I immediately resisted it. It felt like too much. Not really me. Or at least, not the version of me I had gotten comfortable being. But what I realized is something I’ve actually seen play out so many times… in my own life and in coaching.

Sometimes, we can’t fully see ourselves.

We see through the lens of who we’ve been, what’s felt safe, what we’ve learned to identify with. And without even realizing it, we stay there… because it feels familiar.

What shifted for me in that moment was allowing someone else to reflect something back to me that I couldn’t quite see on my own yet.

They saw a version of me that felt expansive in a different way… and so instead of pulling back, I chose to lean into the discomfort and trust it.

And that’s the part that stayed with me.

Because I see this all the time in coaching spaces. Women sitting right in front of their next level, but still relating to an older version of themselves… rooted in a story they’ve already outgrown. Not because they’re not ready, but because they haven’t fully seen it yet.

That’s the power of being in the right rooms. The right conversations. The right energy. Spaces where you’re not seen through your past, but gently invited into who you’re becoming.

Because being in your truth doesn’t feel comfortable at first. Sometimes it looks like a white dress you don’t think is “you”… until it is.

And maybe that’s the real invitation.

Not to become someone new, but to let more of you be seen.

This week’s podcast with Jaclyn Shaw – Author of the book Spiritual Smackdown, is such a powerful reflection of this. Moving through betrayal into forgiveness, and ultimately into a deeper connection with God and truth. It’s a reminder that even our most painful experiences can become the doorway back to ourselves – back to trust, back to truth, and back to a kind of peace that doesn’t depend on anything outside of us.

Remember to breathe, and trust that you are spiritually wired for your dreams – they’re already waiting for you.

Sending much love your way.
