What you need to know when it comes to measuring success
Here’s a short and simple reminder for you…
It’s a reminder to measure your success by looking back on how far you’ve come. Not by comparing yourself to where you think you should be.
I see this so often with clients (and with myself). You have a perfect ideal vision of yourself. One where you weigh a certain amount, are perfectly organized, you rock it in whatever field you’re in, and you parent like a champion – the list is endless.
Now don’t get me wrong, having goals is a healthy practice. What isn’t healthy is constantly comparing yourself to the end goal.
Do yourself a favour and focus on how far you’ve come and all the goodness you’ve already created. Allow your goals to be a guiding light, instead of a pressure filled cabin of comparison.
Remember even when it seems like no progress has been made, experience and new insight have been gained. Every. Single. Time.
Process versus outcome as the saying goes. I’m going to try to remember this too!
Stay calm & healthy my friend. And as always remember to slow down and breathe…
