Bring Your Energy to What You CAN Control
If I had to pinpoint the moment in my life when everything shifted for me, I would say it was this: I stopped trying to control what I couldn’t control and instead, focused my energy toward what I could control. Full stop.
Examples of this would be:
👉other people’s actions & feelings
👉others people’s opinions of me
👉most outcomes
👉the past
👉the future (to a certain extent)
A healthier approach is to bring your energy to what you CAN control, which is how you show up. It’s a decision to focus on:
✨your thoughts
✨your beliefs
✨your mindset
✨your reactions to situations
✨what you consume (from food to social media)
✨how you treat people
I often think of the famous quote by Wayne Dyer: “How people treat you is their karma; how you react is yours.”
So, if you catch yourself depleting your energy in an attempt to manage things that are beyond your control… pause, take a deep breath. Reflect on what actions you can take and where you can channel your energy in a way that serves you or the situation. Then, let go of the rest.
You’ll feel so much lighter.
