What if there’s space for both?

by | Oct 4, 2026

Can you relate to this? Wanting to go all in on doing all the things and equally wanting to pause everything and embrace only the being?

It’s an underlying tension I’ve always been aware of… quietly in the background. And I know I’m not alone because I hear it from others often.

Two seemingly opposite desires competing for our attention.

Personally, it looks like wanting to go all in on the things I’m creating. Write the book. Grow the podcast. Teach. Create. Say yes to the opportunities that stretch me.

And then another part of me wants to turn my phone off, quiet everything down and focus mostly on meditating.

I used to see this as an internal conflict I needed to resolve. But I’ve learned something important along the way…

What if there’s space for both? And what if that’s actually the whole point? What if the tension between the two isn’t something we need to fix or change?

Because there is duality in life. The masculine and the feminine. The structure and the surrender. The hard and the soft. The ambition and the rest. The part of us that wants to go all in and the part that sometimes needs to pull all the way back.

I think so much of our discomfort comes from believing we have to choose one way of being. We decide that if we’re truly committed, we should always be pushing forward. Or if we’re truly spiritual, we should always be surrendered and trusting.

But being human is rarely like that.

This week inside the Spiritually Wired Membership, we started our discussion of the classic book The Seat of the Soul, and one of the things I love about conversations like these is that they invite us to look at our lives from a different perspective. Not necessarily to find the right answer, but to become curious about what else might be true. To expand our perspective so we can look at ourselves and our lives through the lens of understanding instead of judgment.

Because what if the part of you that wants more is right? And what if the part of you that wants to slow down is also right?

Maybe wisdom is learning to listen to both – and knowing which one needs to lead in this particular moment.

And if the part of you that needs a little more stillness is speaking right now, this week’s Spiritually Wired podcast episode is a 15-minute guided energetic alignment visualization. A little space to slow down, clear your energy and reconnect within. → {LISTEN TO EPISODE}

And if you’re craving more space for conversations like this, that’s exactly what we create inside the Spiritually Wired Membership. A place to explore, question, deepen your spiritual connection and bring it all into your very real, very human life. → {LEARN MORE}

Because maybe we don’t have to choose between the two. Maybe there really is space for both.

Remember to breathe, and trust that you are spiritually wired for your dreams – they’re already waiting for you.

Sending much love your way.

I'm writing this on my actual birthday. When my family asked how I wanted to spend the day, my answer was pretty simple: some quiet time to write, a walk, and a nice dinner together later. Last year was a big one. Turning 50 came with a lot of celebration and a lot...

What if legacy isn’t something you leave behind?
