Not Every Opportunity Is Meant to Be a Yes✨
On the Spiritually Wired Podcast, I had such a beautiful conversation with author and TEDx speaker Jen Aks, and so much of our conversation stayed with me afterward.
You see, I teach about intuition often. Learning to trust yourself and follow what feels aligned is such a foundational part of both my work and my own life. And I absolutely believe that when we deepen our connection to ourselves, life begins to open in powerful ways.
But what really clicked for me during this conversation was this:
Just because an opportunity is aligned doesn’t automatically mean you have the capacity for it right now.
And I think this is such an important distinction.
Because when you begin healing and becoming more open to life, opportunities often start happening everywhere. New ideas. Invitations. Possibilities. Directions you could go. Intuition helps us recognize what feels expansive, exciting, or aligned… … but that doesn’t always mean you’re meant to take action on it now – or at all.
There’s another piece that has to be part of the conversation too: the body.
Your body knows capacity.
Your body knows when something feels grounded and supportive versus when something is stretching you beyond what your nervous system can actually hold in that moment.
That doesn’t mean we avoid growth or only choose what feels comfortable. Sometimes expansion absolutely requires us to stretch beyond what feels familiar.
But I think there’s wisdom in learning to pause and ask yourself:
Do I actually have the capacity for this right now?
Not from the mind.
From the body.
Honestly, this conversation felt like such a beautiful reminder that intuition isn’t just something we think about. It’s something we feel. And the more connected we become to our bodies, the more clearly we can discern the difference between alignment, fear, capacity, and overwhelm.
We go much deeper into all of this in the episode, including a specific technique Jen shares to help you shift away from unwanted emotions in the moment.
And fun fact: Jen shares a story about missing the opportunity to have dinner with JFK Jr., which unexpectedly became a catalyst for a much deeper healing journey in her life. Such a fascinating conversation.
If you’ve been craving deeper trust in yourself, your intuition, and your body’s wisdom… I think you’ll really love this one. You’ll find the links to listen or watch on YouTube below.
