The Wellness Advice We All Need to Hear…

When did wellness become so complicated?

Every day there seems to be a new supplement, another morning routine, conflicting advice about hormones, fasting, cold plunges, protein, sleep…

It’s no wonder so many of us feel like we’re doing it wrong.

That’s why this week’s podcast conversation felt so refreshing.  Jenn Pike, one of Canada’s leading experts in women’s health and hormones, doesn’t just tell you what to do. She helps you understand why. Because when you understand why your body is communicating the way it is, you stop chasing every new wellness trend and start rebuilding trust in yourself.

As we were talking, I realized that’s exactly what I’ve been missing. I found myself getting emotional because I realized the hardest part was that I had stopped trusting my body the way I used to.

Jenn’s response helped me see something I couldn’t quite see before. She reminded me that our bodies are always communicating with us. The goal isn’t to fix the symptoms or push through them. It’s to become curious enough to understand why they’re happening.

That word… why… stayed with me.

We also look at sleep through a whole new lens and even talk about something that’s becoming much more common: sleep divorce. The name makes it sound dramatic, but it’s a growing trend where couples choose to sleep separately in order to support their individual sleep needs. Better sleep can actually lead to healthier relationships.

It’s another reminder that wellness isn’t about following someone else’s blueprint or worrying about what something looks like from the outside. It’s about understanding what your body needs and giving yourself permission to make decisions that are right for you.

Maybe that’s the invitation this week. Instead of asking, “What’s the next thing I should be doing?”

Ask yourself, “What is my body trying to tell me?”

Because the more we understand ourselves, the less we need to look outside of ourselves for the answers. And that goes for physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellness.
